Revolutionizing Urban Agriculture Through IoT

Transforming Traditional Farming Methods Through IoT Integration, Leading to Unprecedented Growth in Sustainable Urban Agriculture

About the client

This case study delves into the exploration journey of a our Client who after quitting is JOB from a big MNC, started his venture to build Tech and Hardware to Revolutionizing Hydroponic farming through standard tech and devices. His vision: democratize hydroponic farming through standardized, plug-and-play technology solutions that any farmer could implement without extensive technical knowledge.

Business Challenges

For our client, we had to overcome the following challenges to complete this complex development project:

  1.  There is no standard process to manage the crop lifecycle remotely.
  2. Manual monitoring of pH, nutrients, and temperature.
  3. There is no standard process to track down the other inventories used in each stage of the crop lifecycle.
  4. Alert system setup whenever the expected value of parameters doesn’t align with the actual value at the farm.
  5. No process to control/schedule the sensors setup at the farm remotely.
  6. Coordination with workers working at the farm and creating and managing tasks for them for each crop lifecycle.
  7. Real-time capture of sensor data for each crop life cycle.
  8. Creating a standard format for the IOT data packets to make things consistent.

Our Solutions

We developed a customized solution for our client, addressing the critical need to automate the entire farm and crop lifecycle management through tech via web-based application

Web Portal to Manage Farms

  1. Farm , polyhouses, zone, nursery creation/management
  2. Crop lifecycle management
  3. Capturing real time sesnor data in timeseries database for each polyhouse, zone, nursery
  4. Managing sensor data and scheduling sensors through web portal
  5. Alerts setup for sensors, crop lifecycles
  6. Task creation and management for farm
  7. Real-time monitoring dashboard
  8. Dashboards for the farm, monitoring harvest, mortality and other aspects and data points of the farm
  9. User and Inventory management

Results & Impact

Quantitative Results

  1. 35% reduction in labor costs
  2. 25% increase in crop yield
  3. 40% reduction in water usage
  4. 20% reduction in energy consumption
